about
This is the first single of a series to be released on my first full-length album, Chasing Shadows, recorded with Mark Anderson in Denver, Colorado. This song is one of my older songs brought back to life with the help of musicians, Paul DeHaven and Sarah Anderson. It is about the fine mental health edge we tread, especially in today's world. Sometimes we sink and sometimes we swim. The new album spans my songwriting from 2009 until the present day.
lyrics
The ground is shifting
The ground is moving
The ground is shifting
The ground is moving
Are you moving, moving with it
Or are you holding what you thought you knew
It's a dance along the razor's edge
Do you sink or swim in this ocean
I move so fast, my pain can't keep up
When I stop, it catches my step
It's a mess to hold the life I knew
In this death, I hope for something new
This is what I've asked for
If only I can let go
Of what I thought was real and true
And lean into the great unknown
The ground is shifting
The ground is moving
The ground is shifting
The ground is moving
What I thought was solid was just an illusion
It's a dance along the razor's edge
Do you sink or swim in this ocean
Do you sink or swim in this ocean
Do you sink or swim in this ocean
